Funding will be available to eligible homebuyers purchasing a workforce housing unit from approved developers in the WHP. WHP funds will assist with first mortgage and gap financing for the eligible workforce-housing unit. Eligible costs include, but are not limited to, closing costs and down payment assistance.
The Florida Hometown Hero Housing Program would make housing more affordable for these heroes by providing down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible workers. Lawmakers are also considering HJR 1/ SJR 1746, a proposed constitutional amendment that would grant an additional property tax exemption for members of many hometown hero professions. Florida Realtors support both of these beneficial proposals.
